Orthopedic Dog Bed Highland

No. Highland is an upholstery fabric whose design is inspired by the characteristic pattern of cowhide. The high-contrast, irregular spots capture the look of a natural hide marking, without any animal leather. The fabric is made of 100% polyester and has a soft, silk-matte surface.

Very durable. In the pet-proof test according to BS 8479, the Highland fabric earns the top rating: 5, category X. This means the appearance of the material did not change after testing with simulated claws. On top of that, it achieves 50,000 rubs in the Martindale abrasion test and a pilling resistance of 4. This keeps the cover looking beautiful for a long time, even with daily use. Regularly trimmed claws are also good for the cover and your dog.

All orthopaedic dog beds from William Walker have the same high-quality inner cushion filling. The difference therefore lies exclusively in the Outer fabric. Each collection has its own feel, look and functionality.

All covers are compatible with each other and can be combined as desired. This means you can easily change the style or material - for example, in summer a Plain-cover and in winter a Cozy-cover - without having to buy a new bed.

Give your dog a little time. Especially if he has never had an orthopedic bed before, the firmer sleeping surface will feel unfamiliar at first. That firmness is intentional: it supports joints and spine instead of letting your dog sink in. It practically never happens that a dog permanently rejects the bed, it is just a matter of adjustment. Place the bed in a quiet, fixed spot, add a familiar blanket or a worn piece of clothing with familiar scents at the beginning, and reward your dog for going in voluntarily. After one to two weeks, the new bed becomes most dogs' favorite spot.

The top of the inner cushion has a water-repellent cover. Light moisture therefore does not reach the filling right away. You should still dry off wet spots promptly.
